Effective June 16th, 2008 James A. (Jim) Bennett joined Spratt Savings & Loan. He was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In announcing Jim’s employment, Glenn Anderson, Spratt’s CEO, advised that they would leverage Jim’s extensive lending experience in an effort to substantially grow the Association’s lending business. Anderson stated “increasing lending activity at Spratt is a major objective, when Chester County residents think of mortgages, consumer loans or business loans, we want them to think first of Spratt Savings & Loan! Additionally Jim’s knowledge of the financial services industry and passion for superior quality service will allow us to add further value to our relationships with our customers.”
Jim has been in banking for over 22 years, most recently with First Citizens Bank with whom he worked for 12 years. As Area Commercial Loan Executive, he was responsible for developing new business as well as servicing existing commercial clients in York, Lancaster and Chester counties. He also worked with Rock Hill National Bank and NationsBank prior to joining First Citizens.
Jim and his wife Annette have two sons, David and Samuel.
A native of Union, SC, Jim earned an MBA from Winthrop University and an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Presbyterian College. He is very active in their church, First Baptist in Rock Hill. He also services as a director on a number of boards for non-profit organizations and has served in leadership roles with the South Carolina Banker’s Association.
